SAFO Child Safety Standards

Last updated: September 2026

1. 18+ platform

SAFO is strictly intended for adults aged 18 and over. Individuals under the age of 18 are not permitted to create or use a SAFO member account.

Although SAFO is an adults-only service, we maintain zero-tolerance standards regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation.

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

SAFO prohibits Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE). Prohibited content and conduct include:

  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM);
  • sexual exploitation or abuse of minors;
  • grooming of minors for sexual purposes;
  • sextortion involving minors;
  • sexual trafficking or exploitation of minors;
  • soliciting, creating, possessing, distributing, sharing or facilitating CSAM; and
  • attempting to use SAFO to facilitate any sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor.

This content and behaviour are prohibited even though minors are not permitted to use SAFO.

3. Reporting child-safety concerns

Members can report profiles, messages, posts, comments, events, content or behaviour through SAFO's in-app reporting mechanisms where available. Reports are reviewed by people on SAFO's moderation team.

For urgent child-safety or CSAE concerns, contact safety@safoapp.com. Identify the relevant profile or content and provide enough information for SAFO to locate it. Do not email or redistribute suspected CSAM.

Allegedly illegal content may also be reported through SAFO's public illegal-content notice form.

4. Enforcement and response

When SAFO obtains actual knowledge of suspected or confirmed CSAM or CSAE, SAFO may take appropriate action, including:

  • immediately restricting or removing the content;
  • suspending or terminating accounts;
  • preserving relevant information where legally required;
  • escalating the matter for human review; and
  • reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), or to the appropriate regional or law-enforcement authority, where required by applicable law.

SAFO does not claim that these actions or external reports are automated. Child-safety reports and moderation decisions are handled through human review.

5. Cooperation with authorities

SAFO complies with applicable child-safety laws and cooperates with lawful requests from competent authorities. SAFO discloses user information only when permitted or required by applicable law and lawful process.

6. Child safety point of contact

Child-safety and CSAE notifications can be sent to safety@safoapp.com. This is SAFO's existing safety and moderation contact channel.
