Pose is a groundbreaking TV series set in New York City's vibrant 1980s and 90s ballroom scene. It explores the lives of Black and Latinx LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly trans women and gay men, who find chosen families in "Houses" and compete in extravagant balls. The series authentically portrays the community's struggles against discrimination, poverty, and the AIDS crisis, alongside their triumphs, resilience, and quest for acceptance and self-expression. SAFO users will appreciate its rich portrayal of queer history, found family, and the power of chosen kinship in the face of adversity. It's a vital celebration of trans and queer pioneers.
