"Less" is Andrew Sean Greer's Pulitzer-winning comic novel from 2017. It follows Arthur Less, a gay novelist on the cusp of his fiftieth birthday, as he embarks on a whirlwind world tour. Facing both professional anxieties and the awkward invitation to his ex-lover's wedding, Arthur accepts a series of literary invitations across multiple continents, hoping to outrun his personal woes. This witty and poignant story explores themes of love, aging, and self-discovery through the eyes of a charmingly hapless gay protagonist, offering SAFO users a delightful and reflective read with a significant queer voice at its heart.
