Heartstopper Vol. 1 is the first volume in Alice Oseman's popular graphic novel series, depicting a tender and heartfelt British queer love story. It introduces Charlie Spring, an openly gay overthinker, and Nick Nelson, a cheerful rugby player, who find themselves sitting next to each other in form class. As their friendship develops, Charlie falls for Nick, while Nick begins to question his own identity and feelings. This volume beautifully explores themes of self-discovery, first love, friendship, and navigating the complexities of school life and queer identity with warmth and gentle honesty. SAFO users may appreciate its positive and authentic portrayal of young queer relationships.
