Stories of Our Lives

"Stories of Our Lives" is a collection of five short films, each dramatizing true events experienced by members of Kenya's queer community. Directed by Jim Chuchu and produced by The NEST Collective, this 2014 drama offers a rare and vital glimpse into lives often unseen and unheard. The narratives explore various facets of queer identity and relationships against the backdrop of Kenyan society, presenting moments of joy, struggle, and resilience. For SAFO users, this film is a powerful and authentic exploration of LGBTQ+ experiences from a region where such stories are rarely told on screen, offering both insight and solidarity.
