Special

A television special refers to a non-recurring, standalone program broadcast on television, distinct from a regular series. These productions are often created for specific occasions such as holidays, cultural events, or to highlight a particular performer, topic, or artistic presentation like a concert, documentary, or comedy show. Throughout television history, this format has been a significant platform for showcasing diverse content, including many programs dedicated to queer stories, figures, and cultural milestones, making it a relevant category for exploring LGBTQ+ narratives.
