Bottoms

From director Emma Seligman, Bottoms is a sharp and witty comedy centered on PJ and Josie, two unpopular queer high school students. Desperate to improve their social standing and connect with their crushes, they concoct a wild plan: starting a self-defense club at school. This seemingly altruistic endeavor quickly devolves into an excuse to meet and impress the cheerleaders they admire. Starring Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri, this 2023 film is a vibrant, chaotic, and unapologetically queer take on the teen comedy genre, exploring themes of friendship, identity, and the sometimes-absurd lengths people go to for love and acceptance.
